The Legacy Trail Extension will complete the conversion of an unused, overgrown rail corridor to a well-used recreational and commuting trail spanning nearly 30 miles. The trail provides an attractive and safe place to walk, run, skate or cycle, explore local nature, commute to jobs, or run errands. The trail enhances quality of life and improves property values.
Trail usage in 2017 totaled 225,573, and in 2018, usage had already reached 118,642 in the first five months.
Conservation Foundation worked to raise awareness about the value and importance of completing the trail, in preparation for the countywide Referendum vote in November 2018. Learn more about the timeline for construction at The Friends of The Legacy Trail
