The Living Landscape

September 13 - October 26, 2018
9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Joan Lyon is an acclaimed environmental and wildlife artist. Born in Providence, RI, Joan moved to Florida by way of Maryland and Illinois. She has worked in many media from large oil and acrylic paintings on canvas, to assemblage and sculpture in clay and marble, from watercolor, to pastel and prints and has always used collage. Currently she is working in mixed media monotype.

Joan’s exhibit at Bay Preserve is an expression of her belief that only when we are able to live in a harmonious relationship with our world can we truly fulfill our potential as human beings. The rough and imperfect surfaces of her mixed media monotypes metaphorically reveal the fragility of both the earth and every living thing on it.

In addition to the exhibit at Bay Preserve, Joan’s work is currently on display at the Artists of the Court Gallery in Sarasota, FL and at Lydon Contemporary, Inc. in Chicago. A member of the Florida Artists Group and Women Contemporary Artists, she has exhibited in juried group and solo shows, won prizes and grants and is a lifetime member of the National Collage Society.

The exhibit may be viewed through M - F, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM thru October 26, 2018.
