Myakka River

The Story

We are making progress with your help!

In the past two years, we have added four properties within the Myakka River Conservation Corridor to the Florida Forever conservation priority list.

With your help, Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast will save land along the Myakka River. We have the opportunity to permanently conserve four incredibly significant properties in our community. The ranches contain about 8,000 acres that help protect the Myakka River and connect to 110,000 acres of conservation lands. They are also home to lots of wildlife including the gopher tortoise, the roseate spoonbill and the Florida panther. Stay tuned for details on additional opportunities to protect properties in this priority area.
